Photography on location, instruction by celebrity photographer August 03, 2008
photo

I will be offering one-on-one photography instruction in September to those who have an interest in travel (landscape seascape) and portrait photography.

For those of you who are interested in personal instruction these individualized courses are an excellent way to develop your skill in a no stress environment. A minimum of 1 hour and up to 3-4 hours in length depending on your interest and budget for the beginning photographer.

The individual instruction begins at the level you are at and develops your skill level into becoming a more savvy and confident photographer, learning your camera and the environment so you can achieve the results you are looking for and enjoy the process and art of photography along the way.

One-on-one instruction on location begins at $40.00 per hour, plus a travel expense which covers parking. Usually we will begin with the basics and covering what you know already and developing your skill from there, how to "see" and compose a shot, lighting, and utilizing which camera settings will make the best photograph. The next course called the follow up, we can discuss the photos we took from the prior course instruction so your course instruction is well rounded.

I encourage you to email me and set a date on the calendar with a deposit. This course will fill up quickly. I will only be offering this a hand full of times per year, as my commercial photography business keeps me quite busy.

Thank you for your interest.

Founded in 1997, New Leash On Life has been responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing and placing over 3,000 dogs, providing free educational seminars at local shelters, setting shelter rescue priorities on “hard to place” animals requiring medical or special care, founding the P.E.T.’s program (Pet Educational Trainers) and co-founding Partners for Life which saved hundreds at the East Valley Animal Shelter.

Winner! Best in Show; Best kisser, Kandu!

For this amazing little dog the name Kandu couldn't fit any better, with it's Can do ability and lovable personality Kandu shows us humans how to get it done! Kandu, a lovable little mixed breed and double amputee won Best in Show at the annual Nuts for Mutts Dog Show at Pierce College on June 1st 2008.

This was an incredible event. The crowd was amazing; over 400 mixed breeds, and the dogs that showed up weren’t bad either. All kidding aside, the New Leash on Life and Nuts for Mutts organization saves hundreds of dogs each year. Dogs are displaced through natural disasters or just being lost or forgotten. Each dog is cared for and spayed or neutered before being adopted, through New Leash on Life. If you're considering getting a new pet, think of Nuts for Mutts and New Leash on Life - give these animals a fresh start in a new loving home.

My first experience as a volunteer for this event this year came by listening to 97.1 FM. I found out about the event through Heidi Hamilton's affiliation as a past judge in the show. You can see photos I took of Heidi on my web site in the Events>>Nuts for Mutts gallery, pages 8 of 20 and 4 of 20. Heidi is a very funny and adorable radio personality who can be found by listening to www.frostyheidiandfrank.com from 10am to 2pm M-F online or at 97.1 Free FM. There were many other celebrities who spent their afternoon for this very good cause, including Shirley Jones and Rip Taylor (you can see photos of them also on my web site, corresponding photos in the gallery pages of Nuts for Mutts, pages 5 of 20, 4 of 20, 7 of 20). Many of these celebrities can be seen at my web site, www.tcphotodesign.com. If you are looking to volunteer for a good cause and love dogs, let's see you at the next show. Bring your entire family and your dog and have fun!

Even my kids got in the act with Kimberly Caldwell of American Idol, page # 67 & #47 of the gallery and photo # 14 of 20, and 7 of 20.

All in all, it was a fun and unique experience and I would advise anyone to experience it!

Thanks also to Kash, coordinating the photographers for the event. See his web site at: www.zumablue.com. Kash made me and my family feel welcome and appreciated. Thanks bud!

July 25 2008 Masquerade in Paris, Jillian Clare
photo

Jillian Clare's Red Carpet Star-Studded Charity Benefit and Sweet Sixteen birthday party, Masquerade in Paris was a hit! I was personally invited by Jillian's PR office, In Media PR to attend. The charity Jillian wants to bring attention to is www.apeaction.org. Please check out the web site and get involved.

Along with me (TC Photography & Design www.tcphotodesign.com) to line the Red Carpet were photogs from Getty Images, JPI and others, as well as Online Tonight's own Jennifer Smart, interviewing guests (you can see more at www.OnlineTonight.com).

Jillian Clare is quite an accomplished actress, and has an extensive resume for only sixteen. Jillian has appeared in Days of Our Lives, and has a new web series, Miss Behave. Jillian has also appeared in many commercials and done voice over’s as well.

Teenage stars packed the Red Carpet and many of them came dressed to the nines in their masks to celebrate the theme of the party, Masquerade in Paris. Stars such as Brett DelBuono, Greer Grammer (Kelsey Grammer's daughter, Miss Malibu 2008), Victoria Justice of Zoey 101, and Taylor Dooley (Co-Star of Shark Boy & Lava Girl) just to name of few.

The event drew on-lookers as it was held at the Long Beach Harbor. Jillian boarded her Catamaran Yacht at 8:30pm and sailed off into the moonlight for a birthday to remember.

I know I will always remember this exciting event. I consider it to be an honor to be selected to be a part of such an exciting evening and also to help celebrate Jillian's sweet 16 birthday.

Sponsors assisting with event: Go Girl Energy Drink, KEWL Magazine, APE (Action People Environment), The Yacht was provided by Harbor Breeze (contact Monique Wright, events coordinator and let her know how you found them). I’m more than a photographer; I help promote those businesses who help support TC Photography & Design/Special Events and Red Carpet Photographer.

I also wanted to thank Jillian publicly for taking a moment to talk to my daughter Allison on the phone so my daughter could wish Jillian a happy birthday. Being able to wish happy birthday turned out to be a gift in return to my daughter as she was so happy she was able to speak with Jillian for a couple of minutes. That couple of minutes, as it turned out, will always be a special memory for daughter and dad alike. Thanks to Jillian, even when it's her day, she is willing to give back to her fans.

Colby from Survivor at Annual Nuts for Mutts Dog Show. Photo by TC Photography & Design

Thanks to everyone who made my first experience as a volunteer at the Nuts for Mutts Dog Show a day to remember!

I had a great time at the Nuts for Mutts Dog Show this year, which was held on June 1, 2008.

This is an annual event bringing together 10,000 visitors and nearly 400 dogs at Pierce College in Woodland Hills for the common good, and to bring awareness to the need to spay and neuter our pets. This is also a time for the New Leash on Life organization to let the public know how to make a difference in their own communities as responsible pet owners.

Nuts for Mutts Dog show is sort of an informal dog show and fun family event, but it is important none-the-less. Nuts for Mutts and the New Leash on Life organization have been instrumental in saving the lives of dogs and bringing together both pets and dog lovers for a good cause, including serving sick children and others needing the companionship of dogs through their Social/Therapy Dog program which visits hospitals and aids people with disabilities. New Leash on Life is making a difference! Why not make a difference in your community by joining these organizations?

I was proud to be a part of the group of guys photographing the event this year. Celebrities and various movie and TV personalities who were there at the show made it a fun time for all. Most of all, for me to be a part of something really important as a volunteer was a great feeling.

You will be able to see some of the photos I took by going to the links below. And while you visit their web sites, why not sign up to help out as a volunteer at the next event? It’s for a good cause and will make you feel great to contribute to a worthy cause.
